Integrated Approach Navigation (IAN) provides a display similar to the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and allows the flight crew to fly any published approach that exhibits a glide path within the navigational database of the Flight Management System (FMS). Flight path guidance is derived from the Central Control Unit (CDU), navigational radios (NAV1/2 & ADF 1/2), or combination of both. For IAN to engage correctly, an appropriate approach (an approach with glide path) must be selected from the FMC database.

IAN is an airline option, and not every airline carrier will have IAN as part of their avionics suite. However, the technology is becoming more popular as the safety and economic benefits of IAN are understood by airline carriers...

...La navigation d'approche intégrée (IAN) fournit un affichage similaire au système d'atterrissage aux instruments (ILS) et permet aux pilotes de suivre toute approche qui présente une trajectoire de descente dans la base de données de navigation du système de gestion de vol (FMS). Le guidage sur la trajectoire de vol est dérivé de l'unité de commande centrale (CDU), des radios de navigation (NAV1/2 et ADF 1/2) ou d'une combinaison des deux. Pour que l'IAN s'engage correctement, une approche appropriée (une approche avec trajectoire de descente) doit être sélectionnée dans la base de données FMC.
